Pashto

The Munji language (ISO 639-3: [mnj] aka Munjani, Munjiwar, Munjigi) is spoken in the Kuran wa Munjan district of Badakhshan province in Afghanistan. There are about 6,000 Munji speakers.

The spoken form of the Munji language has a very long history, but since 2010, the Munji people have been developing a written form of their language. The Academy of Science of Afghanistan approved the official alphabet for the Munji Language in 2017.

The Munji people are using their language for education, literacy, recording cultural information, and for composing stories and poetry.
